Here is Rachael's veggi garden and orchard. The veggi garden has raised garden beds. This makes it easier to care for the plants and (supposedly) keeps things like rabbits from eating the vegies. Some have sides 2.4m by 1.2m and the smaller ones have sides 2.4m by 60cm. In the garden bed on the left tomatos were growing on stakes. At the very front there were some potatoes growing which came up by accident...as this is the compost heap! There are two barrels (you can only see one) for herbs and the blue container has water in it for using with a watering can. Behind this is an orchard for growing fruit trees. The land here used to be an apricot orchard so most things grow really well. There is one Pink Lady and one Gala apple tree, a lemon, a lemonade, an orange, a mandarin, a lime, and a nectarine tree. In the very back left corner there is a strawberry patch and along the fence there are two passionfruit vines. This is just one way of setting up a veggi garden.
